Chapter One :Chapter 1

It was not until this moment that Qi Ziluo realized, the groom of her best friend turned out to be him, the man who was relentlessly pursuing her just last night.

He likes his steak medium rare, he has a bruised birthmark on his thigh, and he always slightly frowns when he is thinking.

Qi Ziluo thought she knew him well, yet she was the last one to know about his marriage.

A pang of pain streaked across her heart. Subconsciously, she intertwined her hands together, but she managed to maintain a warm smile on her face and said softly to her good friend, Cheng Feixue, "Congratulations, Feixue!"

"My bestie, Qi Ziluo, or Lulu the beauty!" Cheng Feixue introduced playfully.

Qiao Yushi, looking at Qi Ziluo, his expression was as still as water as if he had never seen her.

"Nice to meet you, Qiao Yushi!" He said politely, extending his hand and shaking hands with Qi Ziluo.

Perhaps the weather in June was too hot, Qi Ziluo's palm was dripping tiny beads of sweat. She only touched the tip of his finger and then hurriedly withdrew her hand.

Qi Ziluo dared not meet his gaze, afraid that she would reveal their unusual relationship to Cheng Feixue in her panic.

Her worries were unnecessary. He was so calm and composed, and of course, he would not let his beloved wife get hurt.

A strand ha d landed on Cheng Feixue's delicate face. When he turned to look at her face, he saw it and gently removed it with a smile. As if her face was delicate crystal, his movements were so careful.

Qi Ziluo's heart tightened again. He had never treated her with such tenderness. She always thought he was a cold person, but it turned out that she did not deserve his warmth.

In a daze, Qi Ziluo was led into the banquet hall like a puppet and seated.

On the grand wedding of Qiao Yushi, the eldest son of the Qiao family, the scene was, of course, lively. The banquet hall, which could accommodate at least five hundred people, was already filled with esteemed guests. Looking around, every person was someone of important standing , from the business world to the political field.

The guest hall was bustling, with people discussing the family background, knowledge, and good looks of the newlyweds enthusiastically.

Ziluo, however, could not feel happiness for her friend, her husband. Discovering that he could maintain such a relationship secretly was utterly unthinkable. This man was not worthy to be entrusted with a lifetime of trust.

She was worried about her best friend, Cheng Feixue, but she could not say anything to her.

Suddenly, she had an idea!

She quickly sent a message to Xiao Yong, praying silently in her heart that it was not too late.

As soon as she finished everything, the wedding march sounded, and all the guests stood up to welcome the arrival of the newlywed.

The bride's father formally handed the shy Cheng Feixue over into the hands of the charming and graceful Joe Yushi amidst enduring applause.

Ziluo had a slight feeling that he was looking at her from the crowd.

But perhaps it was just her misperception. When she looked at him, he was looking affectionately at Cheng Feixue, his wife.

The wedding was still going on, and the toast was about to happen. However, the person she arranged had not come yet.

She couldn't bear to see his pretentious, gentlemanly smile anymore. Quietly, she left the wedding hall.

In the bathroom, as she was about to call Xiao Yong on her mobile phone, she suddenly felt a warmth on her back and realized she was tightly embraced by a man.

Ziluo was startled and wanted to scream, but her mouth was covered with a warm hand. She was familiar with the scent; if it was not Joe Yushi, then who else could it be?

He was supposed to be having the wedding toast right now. How could he appear here? Did he suddenly abandon his wedding for me?

"I want you, right now," he whispered in Ziluo's ear with an air of indisputability. Her wishful thinking shattered into smithereens by reality.

Her brows unconsciously furrowed together, she turned incredulously, and wanted to ask him: "Have you gone mad?"

He didn't care about what she wanted to say. With a firm grasp, he pulled her into the bathroom in a few strides and locked the door.

"I don't want this!" Qi Ziluo roared out, declaring these words for the first time.

At this moment, he was her best friend's husband — she couldn't intervene in their marriage.

She would despise herself if she did — all that would remain of her dignity would evaporate.

"You have no right to resist!" He once more murmured in her ear.

Yes, she didn't have the right, or she wouldn't bear the consequences.

"Please, please spare me! She is my good friend. If you don't care about me, at least consider her, okay?" Qi Ziluo pleaded softly with tears pooling in her eyes, full of hope.

He might not love her, but he shouldn't insult her like this — dishonor the sanctity of their wedding.

He seemed to have ignored her, grabbing hold of her resisting hands... Qi Ziluo's body ached, but her heart hurt even more.

He had never cared about her feelings. In his eyes, she probably wasn't worth as much as a small dog.

She had thought that once he was married, she could finally leave with a clear conscience. But reality turned out to be unbearably cruel.

Amid the deep sorrow, her tears fell drop by drop onto the white tiles.
